A gift to all Furry Friends with Kirkland’s

I remember being 23 years old crying at home thinking of all the animals that were alone in shelters and needed a place to call home. I knew I couldn’t save all the animals in the world but I just wanted to help, somehow some way. For my 23rd birthday in 2012, I had asked my friends and family to just give me donations for animals or money that I can use to buy animals some food and toys instead of an actual gift for me. It was on December 23, 2012 where I gathered everything I received and ran to the pet store with the $600 in birthday money to buy everything I could think animals needed in shelters. I bought dog beds, blankets, pet carriers, stainless steel bowls, toys, treats, food, etc and brought it all home and put it a pile. I knew it wasn’t enough, I knew at the end of the day all the shelter pets needed was someone to save them and bring them home. However, this was all I could give at the time. On December 23, 2012, I put everything in my car and donated it all to Garland Animal Shelter.

Here’s a photo of the donations I compiled together before driving to the shelter.

This was in 2012, well before I started blogging.

So why am I talking about this now? It brings me to (happy) tears to tell you guys that I’m teaming up with Kirkland’s this holiday season to help animals in need on Snuffy’s birthday. This is a collaboration that I’ve been waiting for my entire blogging career! Y’all know how much of an animal advocate I am and how much I love giving back to animals as much as I possibly can whether it’s rescuing animals, fostering, donating or volunteering my time. The concept of helplessness really hurts me and I think that’s what has driven me to become such a huge animal advocate. This collaboration is a dream and I can’t believe I’m here sharing it with you!

To start off, Kirkland’s has a new Pawlidays Gift Collection that is incredible! They have almost everything you can think of from cozy dog beds, blankets, slippers, mugs and canvases. The dog blankets are SO soft you guys—the softest blankets I’ve ever had!! These would make great blankets for your pups or even yourself if you’re like me and want all dog-related things in the house! They would also make for great gifts for those that don’t have a home. <3

The reason why this partnership really hits home for me is because Kirkland’s was so generous and gifted me SO many items that Snuffy could choose from and the rest I could donate to a shelter or charity of choice. I truly can’t begin to express my gratitude for Kirkland’s for including me on such an amazing campaign. It almost feels like things have come full circle for me from back in December 2012 when I had asked friends & family to help me donate to shelters and now I’m here in December 2018 teaming up with Kirkland’s to do the exact same thing—donate to shelters nearby. I am so happy brands like Kirkland’s exist that not only have quality products but do their part in giving back.

I know a lot of you have furry friends at home that you treat like family and so I wanted to share some of my (and Snuffy’s!) favorite products from Kirkland’s. It’s know how important it is to get your furry friends a gift so I hope this guide helps you in picking them a gift! Kirkland’s Pawliday Collection would also make for thoughtful and sweet gifts to your friends & family! I don’t know about you but it’s one thing to get a gift for me but when someone goes out of their way to get Snuffy a gift, I’m extra grateful and will remember their generosity and thoughtfulness for life.

Snuffy’s Favorites from Kirkland’s Pawliday Collection:

  1. Buffalo Check Dog Bed
    • The quality of this bed is AMAZING!! It’s so plush and soft, Snuffy and Taz claimed their beds immediately! This bed is meant for smaller dogs, I would say less than 25 lbs.

  1. Cozy Dog Slippers
    • Who doesn’t love cozy slippers?! These would make PERFECT gifts for anyone that loves dogs (there’s also slippers for my cat lovers out there too!). We have wood flooring in our apartment so I always like to walk around in slippers to keep my feet clean so I’m excited to wear these around!

  1. Word Block
    • This sign is everything!! It literally speaks to my soul and it’s such a cute gift for other animal lovers out there!

  1. Leash Wall Holder
    • Anyone else have a dog that loses their mind when they hear the “W” word?! This is such an adorable leash holder!!
    • Wait, what was that? You said you had two dogs? Not a problem, Kirkland’s has you covered! 🙂 Shop here!
  1. Clip Picture Frame
    • I love the feel of this picture frame! It’s so minimalistic with simple paw prints in the backdrop making the photo of your pup stand out so much. It has a bit of a rustic vibe with the wood + gray finish but it can honestly match anywhere in your house. Can’t wait to put Snuffy’s photo in there! <3
  1. Blankets
    • Because who doesn’t love cozy, warm blankets during the holiday season? These blankets can be used for you but also for your pets and donated to shelter pets near you. They are INSANELY soft—y’all will love it!

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorites from Kirkland’s! I love supporting brands that help animals in need and I hope you support them as well after reading this post. Their products are high quality and make the perfect gift to any animal lover out there. They have stuff for both dogs and cats too!

Happy Birthday to the love of my life, Snuffy, from both me and Kirkland’s! <3 Words can’t describe how thankful and blessed I am to team up with Kirkland’s during this holiday season to not only celebrate the launch of their Pawliday Gift Collection and shower Snuffy with so many gifts but to also donate most of those gifts to shelters dogs and cats in need. If you’re able to, please consider getting something from the Kirkland’s Pawliday Gift Collection and donate it to a shelter near you. Blankets are usually the most needed item during the holiday season (+ food) and it would be nice to give the shelter dogs a little warmth in their kennel. It will only take a moment of your time and it would mean the world to them as a lot of shelter dogs are sadly living on concrete floors that get very cold in the winter.

Thank you for reading this post and thank you again to Kirkland’s for including me on such a special campaign that really hits home for me. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the products because I want to make sure you get the perfect gift for your needs! <3
