the manhattan suite || intercontinental times square

As most if not all of you know, I recently took a trip to my favorite city of all time. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, New York just has my heart and no other city will ever compare. I love the spark, the energy, the character, and the bustling streets of the city and being there brings such joy to my heart. I used to tell my family and friends when I was little that I’ve always to live in New York…just once, you know? It’s crazy to think that the move to New York might actually happen! I will fill you all in with details on our move on IGTV soon, but for now you’ll just have to stay tuned! 🙂

Ajeet and I decided to stay at the Intercontinental Times Square for our entire trip. We were there for 3 nights in total and it just wasn’t enough! Were y’all able to catch my stories while I was there last week? We were blessed enough to stay in the Manhattan Suite and every single inch of that suite was incredible!! Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city– I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. It was truly magical. We slept with the blinds open on the 36th floor and stared at the city lights before bed and I remember telling Ajeet that I really can’t believe we’ve come this far. This trip was 100% a work trip but we’ve made some big decisions this past week because of it and honestly because of our suite and yes, you will find out those details very very soon!! Let’s just say, sometimes dreams do come true.

I’m so thankful to Intercontinental Times Square for their customer service and overall kindness during our trip. We took a red eye (my first!) to New York and landed in the city at 5:30am. We weren’t even sure what to do but I decided to head to the hotel and see if by any chance, our room was available. The staff greeted us immediately and front desk told us that our room was actually ready (by 7:30am!!) which I was not expecting at all. They were so accommodating throughout our entire stay and seriously if I could stay here every single time I come to New York, I would! Anywho, let me break down some of my favorite parts of the hotel for you!

Overview

I feel like this hotel is great for everyone. It’s family-friendly, great for business or if you just want a luxurious and relaxing stay.  The hotel is pet-friendly which I love and is close to a lot of good nearby restaurants and shops. For those that are coming for business, the internet is super fast!! This was crucial to us because a lot of work includes videos and photo editing. If you’re wanting to be in Times Square, this would be an excellent hotel especially since it’s right next to the subway!

Location

The hotel was about a few minutes from the heart of Time Square. Now, if you’re visiting New York and want to do all the touristy things, then this is an absolutely great location. I’ve been to New York several times and a few people scoffed and asked me why I was staying at Times Square because it’s very busy and touristy. Here’s why. I love being able to walk out the hotel and be in the heart of the crazy, bustling city. That’s what draws me to the city to begin with! However, when I’m headed back to the hotel I want to relax and shut down for the evening and that’s what I love about the hotel. Once you walk in, it doesn’t even feel like you’re near Times Square! It’s so quiet and peaceful so it really felt like you were away from the heart of the city if that’s what you wanted. You get the best of both worlds staying here and I’m all for it!

One thing to note is because of it’s central location to Times Square, it was a bit difficult to grab a Lyft/Uber.  Traffic and overall congestion was a bit difficult so it took maybe 7-10 minutes for one to arrive for the most part. We ended up walking out of the congested area and pick up a Lyft there and other times we just simply took the train. Oh and yes, the train station is literally right next to the hotel so it’s super easy to hop on there!! We actually took the train several times this trip and felt like real New Yorkers, hah!

The Restaurants

Oh my gosh the breakfast buffet was amazing, y’all!! We had breakfast here twice in the mornings and it was 100% worth the price. Their breakfast selection had everything from cereal to scrambled eggs to french toast and all the things you could ever want to eat for breakfast. It was super convenient too especially because we naturally were running late in the mornings and didn’t want to wait for breakfast to be served! We loved the buffet! The Stinger downstairs also has fantastic, unique drinks that you should definitely try if you’re here!

The Room

There are three selling points for me on the room: the bed, the shower, and the views.

Let’s chat about the bed. We only slept about 3-4 hours a night on this trip and I’m determined to come back to the city (for an occasion other than work) just to sleep on that bed a little longer. Holy moly the bed was SO comfortable, it was like sleeping on clouds. You know how after you come home from a trip you’re excited to just be in your own bed? Nu uh, not this time. I miss the bed from Intercontinental Times Square!! The views of the city while sleeping also helped I’m sure! 🙂

Our room had an amazing rain shower and it was HUGE! I know I don’t need all that room to shower in but it’s nice to have, isn’t it?! The products they had were high quality and everything was super clean!

Now… the best part of all, the views. The floor to ceiling windows is what truly sold me and is the part of our stay that made me never want to leave. It was the countless amount of times I would stop the go go go mentality just to stand near the window and stare out into the city. The best time was at night when all you see are the magical New York City lights and bustling cars still going at 1am. It was at that moment when I completely envisioned my life here and it was at that moment where Ajeet officially said yes to moving to the city with me!

Stay here once and you’ll definitely want to come back.
