Cutouts || LA Style

Happy Monday babes! I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend, especially celebrating Mother’s Day with loved ones. My mom had to work yesterday and although we took her out to dinner, Ajeet and I wanted to do more. We got her a bunch of flowers, surprised her at work and her reaction was priceless! <3 Every year for birthdays or any special occasions, I always try and come up with the most perfect gift and yes, I did get my mom a bunch of gifts (mostly hair care things!), I knew what really truly matters the most is just being there and showing your love. I knew showing up to my moms work will let her know that we’re thinking of her even though she’s at work on Mother’s Day. Sometimes, it’s really not about the gift and more about the gesture that means the most. It’s something I’ve learned this past year and I hope to continue showing my love to those I care about through not only gifts, but through words, acts, and gestures.

Ajeet and I came back from LA super late Saturday night (just so we make it in time for Mother’s Day!) and honestly, we had such a great time! We stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar and I cannot say enough good things about this boutique hotel ! We were surprised with wine and cheese when we checked in and the staff was very attentive and kind throughout our entire stay. It’s such a cozy hotel and I love the romantic vibes throughout the lobby and overall decor as well. Super cute! We spent Thursday in our hotel, relaxing and enjoying a little R&R and then headed out to dinner at a spot called Plan Check! They are really known for their fried chicken and burgers, for good reason too. I had the Plan Check Burger and it was so darn good! They had great drink specials as well– definitely a spot you’d want to check out if you’re ever in LA!

Most of our Friday was spent at the Paul Mitchell Product Innovation Lab, learning about the science behind all the PM products! It was such an interesting and cool experience and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to be there! We met so many great individuals at the event– some that I know will be great lifelong friends! <3 We also got to experience a full treatment and blowout (hah, Ajeet got a fun Tea Tree experience and he loved it!) which was absolutely amazing! I think I’ll have another blog post sharing all of my favorite products that they used in my hair during the treatment so I can really dive in to exactly why I love Paul Mitchell and the products! 🙂 We then met up a fashion blogger in LA that I follow for happy hour and it ended up being such a fun double date!! I’m so excited we made great connections and friends in LA– we absolutely love the city and will likely be back very soon.

I wore this summer-friendly cami dress with the most darling side cutouts!! Don’t worry, I’m very picky when it comes to cutouts and make sure the cutouts are as conservative as can be– and this one is great!! This chambray mini dress is so cute and fits perfectly– which is surprising coming from a petite gal! I think it may run slightly smaller but I still got a size XXS and felt it fit just right. I knew this dress would be perfect for LA weather (high in the 70s) and I was comfortable in it all day. I put on my favorite kicks in the morning as I knew I’d be walking a ton!!

Anyway, it’s about 11:45PM right now as I’m writing this and Ajeet and I have a lot of new goals that we are setting for each other– one of which includes heading to bed before 12AM every night. We have a 7AM gym alarm set (It’s so crazy and unlike us!) so we definitely need to rest up. Since law school ended, I really wanted to change my lifestyle a little and become more of a morning person rather than a night owl. No need to stay up late and read anymore so why not sleep on time and start the next day up bright, early, and at em’! I know 12AM still sounds late, but we usually sleep between 2-230AM so baby steps y’all!! Maybe next week we can try for 11PM! 🙂 We’ll see, that may be pushing it, hah! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and I’ll chat with you soon!! Xo!
