Valentine’s Day 2017 in Boston || The Boxer Boston Hotel

Happy Friday, loves!! I’m so excited to share another travel post with you guys and this one is ever so special! 💖 When deciding where to go for our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, we both instantly knew we wanted to be somewhere COLD! We both love the snow and just had to go somewhere with a winter wonderland vibe and we knew Boston would be a great pick! Plus, we went to Cape Cod last year and stayed in Boston only for a couple of hours and that simply wasn’t enough time to really explore the city.

As the weekend before Valentine’s Day approached, we were closely watching the weather and saw TONS of snow in the forecast but little did we know we were going to get a straight up winter STORM! The Thursday before our flight, Boston was expecting anywhere from 10-15 inches of snow!! ALL flights were cancelled going to Boston that Thursday. Honestly, we were pretty excited to jump right in this almost blizzard!! Our families and friends kept telling us to cancel our flight and book it for the following weekend but we both wanted an adventure, haha! We made it to Boston with no problem at all on our flight Friday and took a cab to our beautiful hotel at The Boston Boxer!

[full_width]P.S. Just a little tip if you’re ever vaca-ing in the cold, do NOT forget your thermals!! I’m literally wearing 2 pair of thermals and leggings under my green pants! I really didn’t feel any cold except on my face. Also, if you’re out exploring, I would invest in solid North Face gloves. The ones I’m wearing are cashmere lined CUTE gloves that aren’t meant for 20 degree weather! 😉

A little about our stay || the hotel:

When booking our hotel, we wanted to stay in an area where a) we can do cute little shoots and b) still be romantic and cozy to make our pre-Valentine’s Day trip perfect. The Boxer Boston Hotel did exactly that for us. From the charming location to the cozy rooms, everything was incredible. To start with, I’m super picky when it comes to mattresses (trust me we spent way too much money on our own personal mattress lol!) and I never usually have high hopes for hotel beds. Because I have a sensitive back, I’m almost always sore the next day due to hotel beds BUT if you follow me on Snapchat, then you probably already know the first thing I raved about was THE. BED. It was so comfortable, so clean and my back was not sore the next morning! The hubs and I had a wonderful night’s sleep which we definitely needed. Our room had a pretty view and it was even prettier with all of the white snow on the ground and buildings! I can’t tell you how many times we both just stood by the window, mesmerized by how beautiful the city of Boston is.

Aside from the location, cozy bed, and unique decor, the staff were absolute angels! From check-in to check-out, they were extremely friendly and accommodating to say the least. They greeted us with amazing chocolates and rosé (along side the sweetest note!) that we indulged in practically the minute we got in our room! It was the perfect start to our Valentines’ Day vacation! Unfortunately/fortunately, Boston was expecting another mini winter storm on Monday and as you can probably guess, our flight was cancelled. We were notified Saturday evening (seriously such a bummer!) and the only other reasonable option was to take a 9AM flight out the next day. The hotel staff knew exactly what we were going through and made the cancellation process of our third night a breeze. No questions, no hassle, nothing but kindness and safe travel wishes from everyone. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered such amazing and kind customer service. 💙 I’m really glad we chose to stay at The Boxer Boston Hotel– they really truly focus on the little details that satisfy customer needs/wants and that’s what makes this hotel stand out!

Anyway, overall we were pretty devastated that our trip was being cut short because we still felt there was so much of Boston that we haven’t seen. I don’t know y’all, we really can’t seem to get closure with Boston!! 😂  We will most definitely be back to get our closure and explore more of the city– that’s for sure! Be sure to check out our pictures below to get an idea of what to expect at the charming Boston Boxer Hotel! 💙

See how beautiful and charming this boutique hotel is?! If you are planning a trip to Boston, I highly recommend looking in to The Boxer Boston Hotel– it won’t disappoint. You can get more details about the hotel and book your stay here! If you’re not feeling a snow adventure like we were, I think the best time to travel to Boston would be anywhere from April-July! One of my good friends who is a Bostonian said June/July is a great time to visit to since the weather is beautiful and you get to see all the pretty flesh blooms ! 🌸 A couple of spots you don’t want to miss out on include: Boston Common, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Freedom Trail, and Boston Public Garden.

I hope you enjoyed this travel post and be sure to send me a message if you have any questions regarding your upcoming stay in Boston! I’m always here to help!! Chat soon, loves!
