Vest: Anthropologie | Top: Nordstrom | Jeans: Topshop | Shoes: DSW
Alright let’s be real. If you’re not 5’8+ it can be pretty difficult to pull off a long vest. I’m only 5’4 you guys and I’ve never really bothered with a long vest before because I know I’m too short for it. However, I found a super sleek (yet cozy) one just last week that was on sale and I couldn’t pass it up! I was determined to figure out a way to make this work for us less taller people!!! Plus, I knew adding a third piece would easily add dimension to my entire look and help transition my style into the current season.
Now, there really are a lot of ways to style a long vest. You can play with the length of the vest or play with how you style it by mixing patterns and textures. When I saw this black vest, I knew I wanted to go for more of a sleek, sophisticated look. After playing with so many different styles and shoes, I finally found something that worked! This classically tailored long black vest perfectly dressed up my black denim and white tee. What would have been an otherwise ordinary outfit just now transformed into a super edgy and chic look! I threw on a leopard print scarf to layer down the vest and of course went with my go-to DSW booties! I was actually debating between my sleek black booties and these, but I figured I wanted to add a little more color to my look and give it a better mix of casual/sleek combo.
It’s important that you pair your outfit with shoes that have heels (whether it be stilettos or booties) if you’re on the shorter side and you want to wear a long vest! This helps add some distance between the vest and the floor and gives you a lengthier look! 😘
I hope I convinced you to grab yourself a long vest and get to stylin’! I’m so glad I pulled the trigger and finally decided to get a sleek long vest! Playing with what you got in your closet is so much fun so I really do encourage y’all to do the same, you never know what the outcome will be! 😉
Chat soon, loves and happy Thursday!! 💋
