Happy Monday after Christmas!!! I hope everyone is staying in and relaxing after the holiday weekend! 🌲🎁 I can honestly say this was the best Christmas I’ve ever had!!! Ajeet and I hosted Christmas at our apartment and had my family over. Our family grew now that I got a little nephew (!!!) so it was amazing being apart of his first Christmas! Somehow he managed to get more presents than all of us combined, hah!! 😂 I made mac and cheese from scratch for the first time ever and it turned out amazing! I think I’ll do a blog post about it soon. I also made peppermint Oreo truffles and Ajeet made delicious chicken along with cheesecake for dessert! My family brought tons of food too so we definitely had a feast!! It was amazing spending time with family, opening presents, and playing games. It doesn’t get any better than that! I just wish my in-laws could make it but maybe next year!!
Anyway, we’re only a few days away from New Year’s Eve and I can’t believe it’s already time to ring in a new year! This year has been amazing – I completed my second year of law school (half of my third too), got engaged AND legally married to my best friend all in one year, gained a new family, fostered two little Labs, moved into our very own apartment, dyed my hair black, and grew my online family! 💙 It’s been an incredible year and I’m glad I got to share it with you!
Now since New Year’s Eve is just around the corner, you know the outfits are too!! I know planning a NYE outfit can be pretty stressful. I love finding dresses with sparkles but I knew I wanted to add a little velvet in my dress this year! This dress I’m wearing is from Topshop and is definitely an eye-catcher! It fits super snug (TTS) and I was happy to find that it wasn’t too short either. I usually play it safe (and comfortable) for NYE but this year I definitely wanted a little sparkle and shine! This dress reminds of of the 80s with the ruffles and shiny belt! I LOVE the ruffles on the side though, totally obsessed!! I kept it classy with faux leather pumps from DSW – super comfy and fits true to size!!
