my stay at pueblo bonito pacifica: los cabos

Last week I surprised Ajeet with a trip to Cabo for his birthday and we stayed at the most incredible resort ever. This was actually my first time staying at an all-inclusive resort and needless to say, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica have set the bar high! They actually helped me plan a few surprises for his birthday as well with swedish massages, breakfast by the beach in a private cabana, and so much more!

Location

For starters, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is roughly about 45 minutes from the airport. However, you don’t have to worry about a thing because you can arrange transportation with them in advance to have a shuttle pick you up! It was super easy!

One thing to note about this location is you are not allowed to get in the ocean at this property. The beach is absolutely stunning and beautiful to look at but the ocean has high undertows here and it’s unsafe for you to go in. I did not mind this at all because the waves were literally crashing all day and night and yes, they were insanely huge! There was something so calming about watching and listening to the waves crashing away. At night, it sort of sounded like thunder and y’all know how much I love thunder!! If you’re really wanting to get in the ocean, the Pacifica is not for you but there are other Pueblo Bonito properties that you can look into (Rosé & Blanco!)

Our experience + the service

When we pulled into the hotel, we were greeted with a creative drink in a coconut and took a tour of the property. Every aspect of the property was well-maintained, clean and absolutely gorgeous. Since we stayed at the Towers, we had our own personal butler during our entire stay! Yup, you heard that right! Ajeet and I have never experienced something like that and it was SO awesome having a butler to chat with and help us with anything we needed (booking outside activities like glass bottom boating, zip-lining, scheduling massages, dinner reservations, etc)! Just some advice though, I would 100% bring some pesos so you can tip bartenders, butlers, shuttle drivers, etc. I know it’s an all-inclusive resort but it’s always nice to give a little extra!

The room

We stayed in the Towers Pool Suite and I HIGHLY recommend staying in this room!! You get your own secluded pool leading out to the resort and it is THE BEST! Since we wanted this trip to be more romantic rather than crazy, we actually ended up using our own pool instead of the main pool just because of how private and relaxing the vibe was! I’m definitely coming back to this exact room when we come back! Everything about the room was luxury and you guys are going to LOVE it!

When we walked into our room, the resort surprised us with balloons, cake and gems on our bed saying ‘happy birthday’ to surprise Ajeet! I didn’t know about this either and it was the sweetest gesture from the team. It’s little details like these that make a resort special and Pueblo Bonito Pacifica proved to us all weekend long that they really do care about their guests.

The amenities + things to know

This resort is all-inclusive and one of the best all-inclusive resorts you’ll ever stay at! My husband has stayed at his fair share of all-inclusive resorts and he warned me that I shouldn’t get my hopes up too high because drinks are typically cheap, served in plastic cups and the food is subpar. He quickly found out when he was served his first drink in a GLASS cup that this resort was completely different. It was luxurious and you were well taken care of. The food was SO GOOD– I’ll get to that soon!

Just so you know, Pueblo Bonito has 4 properties in Los Cabos and Pacifica is the only one that is adults-only. If you’re going on a romantic vacation and wanting to relax, BOOK Pacifica!! We love kids but there was something about not being around loud noise and chaos that was so relaxing and much needed during this trip. The environment is much more relaxing and overall, it’s truly a special experience that you should check out! 🙂

I 100% recommend getting a massage while you’re here by the way. I’ve had my fair share of massages in America, but nothing like the one I experienced here at the resort! We did a couples massage for an hour early Tuesday morning and it was the best way to start our day!

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica also has a fitness center with machines overlooking the ocean– we’re talking HUGE windows too. We had planned to work out there but let’s be real, that didn’t happen.

The restaurants

During the day, we ate breakfast and lunch on the property either by the pool or in a private cabana on the beach. On our second day, the resort arranged a birthday dinner out on the beach in a private cabana and they surprised us with the most intricate and well manicured message on the sand. See the pic below!

As for dinner, we had reservations planned out by our butler for all 3 nights we were there and since we LOVED all three, I’ll share them with you guys!

Our first night we ate at Pueblo Bonito Sunset (another sister property) at a restaurant called LaFrida. You can expect unique, gourmet mexican cuisine here and you MUST get their special tequila!! If you stay at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, you get complimentary shuttle rides that will take you to the other 3 properties by the way. Sunset is only about 4-5 minutes away the Rosé and Blanco are about 10-12 minutes away!

Our second dinner was actually at Pacifica (literally a 30 second walk from our room!) at a Baja cuisine restaurant called Peninsula. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu and the deserts are phenomenal.

I feel like we saved the best for last as we ate at the Quivira Steakhouse on our third night and this may just be my favorite. We ordered SO much here…SO much. Plus, you get incredible views of the ocean at this location so be prepared to take some photos– I’d recommend getting to dinner before the sun sets so you can actually watch the sunset while having a romantic dinner! One thing we did right before our dinner here was a quick 30 minute golf tour at the Quivira Golf Club. I thought this was worth it because once you got to hole #5 and #6, the views were breathtaking.

Outside adventures

The whole reason I booked this trip was so that we could have a nice, relaxing vacation and fully experience an all-inclusive resort. That being said, I didn’t bother with planning too many activities. However, we were told that if you go to Cabo and don’t see El Arco, then you didn’t go to Cabo. I texted my butler saying we wanted to at least do that so he arranged a date/time for us to get on a shuttle to be dropped off to where all the adventures take place (it was about 10-12 minutes away for Pacifica, rather close to the Rosé & Blanco properties). We did the glass bottom boat tour to see El Arco and it was so much fun! You get to see sea lions during this boat tour and take really cool photos of the rock formation! If you want to do more adventures while you’re in Cabo, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica will help you out with that (and get you a good discount). I know you can do some fun Cabo shopping, zip-lining, camel rides and much more! 🙂

The verdict…

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is the best resort we’ve ever been to. Not only was everything so clean, the property just had incredible modern architecture with insanely nice swim out bars (a pool where you can swim to the bar!). Everything about the property was Instagram worthy, y’all! It was so easy for us to shoot here since the options were endless. If you are looking for a romantic and luxurious vacation, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is hands down where you need to stay! I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about the resort and if you have any resorts you love, feel free to share them with me! 🙂 Leave a comment and I’ll get back to you! Hope you enjoyed this resort review and we’ll chat soon!

Thank you to Pueblo Bonito for not only hosting our stay, but going above and beyond and helping me plan the ultimate surprise for Ajeet! Every detail was taken care of and noted by the resort and we felt so lucky and blessed being there.

Hi Nita – Great blog post! We’re going to Pueblo Bonito in February, so I’ve been trying to read up on it and appreciate other people’s experiences. We definitely want to visit El Arco — it sounds like even if you don’t plan that in advance of your trip, it’s still easy to arrange through the resort once you arrive? (We are staying in the Towers too, FYI.)

My other question is tipping… It seems that this is always handled differently at all-inclusives. Did you tip at Pueblo Bonito?
