My Latest Skincare Find: Clarins New Double Serum

A couple of a weeks ago on my Instagram Stories, I shared the latest skincare product that I’ve been trying aka the new Clarins Double Serum! I received a lot of great feedback from you guys about the product itself and I’m super excited to actually share my full review now!

As I mentioned before, when I receive or buy a new product, I at least like to try it out for 3-4 weeks before sharing it with you. I do this for a number of reasons but primarily because it does take time to see results for most products and I also want to make sure there are no issues and if there are, I definitely want to share that with you. Ultimately, you’ll know that I’ve fully tried the product for enough of a time to write a honest review. In this post, I’m going to share a little bit about the product and what I’ve noticed/love about it!

ABOUT THE NEW CLARINS DOUBLE SERUM

The NEW Clarins Double Serum combines the best water-and-oil soluble plant ingredients that helps target signs of skin aging. It’s made up of [20+1] potent plant extracts, including Turmeric which is honestly one of my favorite ingredients when it comes to skincare and food!! Yup, that’s right. I always sprinkle a little bit of turmeric in my smoothies or when cooking anything really because it’s so good for you. I also do a lot of DIY masks that include turmeric when my skin needs a little TLC.

Turmeric (known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties) is used in many different cultures, including mine!! 🙂 Want to know something cool? Typically before Indians marry, the bride and groom will have an event that is called “Haldi Ceremony” which basically entails your loved ones smearing a yellow paste all over your face (and wherever else they want) to give their blessing. That yellow paste is made mostly of turmeric and that’s primarily there to give the bride and groom glowing skin on their wedding day! Yup. That’s how powerful turmeric is and trust me, it really works. I did the tradition before my wedding and I still continue to include turmeric in my DIY masks because it works wonders on my skin. I was completely sold when I found out that the new Clarins Double Serum contained turmeric– that’s honestly why I love the product so much and probably why you can see visible results so quickly! Turmeric is known for its exceptional anti-aging properties that help target fine lines, wrinkles and helps to even out your skin tone.

Also just a quick note about the packaging– the bottle has 2 dials on there which is seriously AMAZING so when I feel EXTRA dry (like in winter) I can use the bigger one but for summer, I use the small dial because that’s all I need. I love how you can customize how much product comes out so you’re not wasting any!

MY RESULTS AFTER 3 WEEKS

After using the new Clarins Double Serum day and night, I started to notice a difference on my skin on about day 8 or 9. My skin looked brighter and overall my just felt even. My husband even commented saying my skin looked “radiant” which was the biggest compliment ever because he barely notices anything, hah! If you’re reading this babes, I’m just kidding! 😉 In all seriousness, this product has really helped with brightening and smoothing out my complexion and improving my dull skin. Going in on my 4th week now, I feel like the skin underneath my eye bags have tightened up a bit and seems to be visibly firm but nothing around my overall face yet. I’m still waiting on that to kick in– I think if I continue to use the serum over the next month or two I’ll really start to see more of a drastic difference when it comes to tightening up my skin. I can definitely keep you guys updated on that!

P.S. If you have sensitive skin, not to worry!! I have insanely sensitive skin and have tried my fair share of products. I was a bit nervous trying the new Clarins Double Serum primarily because it has a bit of oil base in it but surprisingly I didn’t have any bad reaction to the serum at all. If anything, my skin absolutely loved it and soaked the product right up!

WHEN TO APPLY SERUM IN YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

A lot of you ask about my skincare routine and I think it’s probably because of how long it takes me to complete it, hah! I literally spend about 20 minutes every morning and night just taking care of my skin. Now, that entails a lot of steps and I can save that for another post or video. However, I did want to at least share how you should be applying the serum and in what order. If you’re not already using a serum that you love, I highly recommend changing that up!

Serums can be so powerful and helpful to your skin once you find the right product that works for you. The concentration of active ingredients are much higher in serums than your typical moisturizer which means better results.

Basically, you’re going to want to cleanse your skin, apply toner (if you do), and THEN apply your serum. If you have oily skin, you may not even need to apply a moisturizer on afterwards. Personally, I go ahead and apply my moisturizer just because it goes on so nicely after the new Clarins Double Serum. If you have combo to oily skin, I would recommend using this product only at night. I have crazy dry skin so I use it both in the morning and night because it does help hydrate my skin in the process!
