I just want to thank you guys for being SO patient with me over the last few weeks with the whole move process and allowing me to get nestled into our new home. All of our belongings are officially coming in today so I’ll spend a lot of today unboxing but it’s officially time to get back to regular scheduled programming with work! J That means more blog posts, 2-3x Instagram posts a day, and a lot more fun content coming your way!!
Real talk though, I can’t believe I’m sitting in our new apartment writing this post here in Los Angeles!! I honestly don’t think the move has hit me quite yet—it feels like I’m just on vacation and I’ll be coming right back home to Dallas for Thanksgiving. Since I’m traveling to Dallas for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, I really don’t think it’ll hit me that I moved to California until probably early next year! That being said, I still miss home terribly. I FaceTime my parents and my dog literally 2-3x a day and even then I don’t think it’s enough. I know with time and as I get busier with work, things will change and get better so we’ll see!
Ok so there’s that! I wanted to dive into some questions I got during the last few weeks about our move that I haven’t had the chance to address quite yet so I’m going to answer 5 of them now!
Q&A about the Move to Los Angeles
I thought you were driving to LA?
Yes, that was the original plan. We wanted to make a road trip out of it and thought it would kind of fun to stop maybe in New Mexico overnight and drive our way to LA. That and shipping companies were costing us an arm and a leg. However, our parents just didn’t feel comfortable with us making the drive and wanted us to take the safest opportunity possible and generously offered to help us with the cost of the move. We also needed to make it to LA before the StyleCon event that occurred on Nov. 4 and there was no way we would make it if we drove here since we planned everything out a bit too late!
What shipping company did you use?
After much research, we decided to go with United! So far they were great but let’s see how my stuff looks like in a few hours and I’ll update y’all via Instagram Stories! J
Why are you moving to LA?
I mentioned this in several posts but in case anyone missed it here’s a short version! I wanted to pursue blogging full-time in a location more fast-paced and new so it was between LA and New York for us. My husband applied to new jobs in both locations but his heart was set in California. He got a great opportunity to work in Burbank so we decided to take a leap of faith and do this!
Will you come back to Dallas?
It’s only been a few days here in LA so it’s too soon for me to answer that question! We’re going to see how the next year goes and take it from there but of course, I’ll keep you guys updated on our journey!
How are you going to learn to cook?
Lol, this one made me laugh! I don’t know, y’all. I’ll likely FaceTime my parents and ask for help during the process until I get a hang of things or follow a few of my favorite food bloggers and watch them do their thing! No matter what, I’m definitely going to have to start learning as of today since Ajeet just left for his first day at work and it’s all me from here on out! Be sure to follow me along on Instagram to find out what meals I’m making. I’ll definitely post more about food and recipes on the blog now that it’s going to take up a lot of my time, hah!
That’s a wrap! I’m going to jump on Instagram Stories and do a few try-on sessions with y’all and share some of my favorite things on sale right now. My first holiday gift guide will go up this Wednesday so stay tuned!! Chat soon, loves! <3
