Good afternoon loves! I’m so INCREDIBLY sleepy after going to bed around 3am last night. I just haven’t been able to catch up from Labor Day weekend and it’s been rather exhausting! I’m actually quite bummed this week because I really really wanted to go to #NYFW this year but I just couldn’t skip so many days from school. Plus, I couldn’t justify spending so much $$$ when I’m about to move out and have rent + home decor cost + utilities + groceries and ALL OTHER ADULT THINGS COMING MY WAY!!! 😅 #PANICMODEACTIVATED. Lol, no jk I’m prepared for the adult responsibilities coming my way BUT my bank account may not be. Anyway, since I’ll be done with law school next year you can bet your buttocks I’ll be going to NYFW 2017!!!!!!!! 🙌 I am glad though that I made friends with some amazing bloggers so I can keep up-to-date this year through them!!😘  That kind of brings me to something else I wanted to briefly talk about which I think ties in well with my Work Wear Wednesday post. Throughout my entire finance and law school career, I’ve always been told that networking is key and just how important networking really is for your future. Now, I’ll start out saying that I’m a complete introvert and I’m extremely shy/awkward when I’m around new people. It takes me a while to open but and when I do, I’m loud AF. Most of my close friends can definitely vouch for that. 😇 So as you can imagine, networking never came easy for me. I’d watch people just naturally go up to others and strike up a conversation about anything and keep it going and I’d always be amazed. Like, how did they do that?? How do I do that?? Over the years, I’ve learned that there comes a point in your career where in order to succeed, you HAVE to step outside your shell. What has helped me is knowing that if I stood around and said nothing, I’d get nothing in return. One of my go-to tips that I received is if you’re at an event, try and talk to at least five  different people. Five is your number. I used to go through talking points in my head before doing so initially because I’m just not one of those people that can have small talk, or even enjoy it. I’m more straight to the point and I know that doesn’t come off as well as I think in my head. So next time you’re at an event, just make it your goal to say something, anything to five different people. Baby steps. 🐾 Paw steps.

So where am I now? Now I’m at the point where I realized that I’ve literally got nothing to lose if I go and strike up a conversation with anyone. They may not want to talk to me, but now they have to because I’ve approached them lol. But hey, that conversation may lead to a really amazing connection later down the line! Fight your fears and nerves and just SAY something!! Don’t get me wrong, I’m still an introvert. I’m still shy. The only difference now is that I just ignore it temporarily to get through a conversation or an event. It helps to not think too much into it and realize at the end of the day, you’re going back home to your dog, your family and/or whoever else and life will still go on. My mom, being an oncology nurse (providing for cancer patients), always comes home and tells me these incredibly sad stories of people with cancer and I know that’s totally random, but it makes you realize that there are people out there with bigger problems. At any moment, your life could change in a way that this stuff won’t even matter. I think hearing all these stories my mom shares with me really got to me over the years and helped me overcome a lot of little things that I made big in my head. I hope me sharing this with y’all will help y’all too. ❤️

Lastly, for my bloggers out there. I quickly learned that networking is also important in the blogging industry as well!  Shocker! So seriously, get out there, send emails, go to brunch with fellow bloggers, have a coffee date with a rep from a PR firm and really put yourself out there. If you live in the Dallas area, shoot me a DM! I’d love to have brunch!!👯 Seriously though, don’t be afraid to ask questions and don’t be afraid to reach out to brands. The worst that will happen is they’ll say no. And then what? You move on, and try again later. Simple. Don’t let those “no’s” get you down. There will be a point in your life where you’ll realize those “no’s” were a blessing in disguise. Always, always keep your head up and never stop producing content that shows your personality! ⭐

ANYWAY. That was slightly longer than I expected but it’s okay. I really really hope that helped my fellow introverts out there! I know the struggle and I’m right there with y’all! So let’s quickly chat about my outfit. I have never done Work Wear Wednesday before and I was really feeling it today! I bought this dress on sale from Banana Republic this past weekend at the Dallas Galleria but I noticed it’s NOT online?!? Totally bums me out that I can’t link it but I did find the same dress available online in a different print + another polka dot dress too! I love this super cute dress for work because the polka-dots at least for me, really let’s my personality shine. I’m known to be super bubbly overall and for some reason I think of polka-dots when I hear bubbly, haha.⚫ ⚪ I don’t know. But it’s such a fun print and such a fun outfit and still professional for work! WIN WIN WIN! I paired this dress with the most comfortable and elegant sandals from BR as well! I love how versatile these sandals are too. Perfect for work and perfect for going out on the weekends or for a brunch date on a Sunday! These sandals come in 3 other colors btw and I’m debating getting another 🙆 All of my outfit deets can be found up linked up on top OR you can shop my post down below! I tried to make it easier by linking things everywhere 😜 I hope y’all have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Chat soon! Xo. 💋
